Blockers: the simple rule I kept misunderstanding

One Blocker per attack, must be active, and it does not stop the damage — it moves it.

A Blocker is a Character with the Blocker keyword. When your opponent declares an attack, you may rest that Character to make it the new target of the attack.

The three constraints

  • The Blocker must be active — a rested Blocker cannot block.
  • Only one Blocker may be used per attack.
  • Blocking happens in the Block Step, before Counters are played.
